So says Arpan Das, whose extraordinary photos of mountains capture the essence of their secret in spellbinding fashion. 

Taken almost everywhere from the Canadian Rockies to the Swiss Alps, these shots are proving a hit on Instagram, earning Das practically 40,000 followers to date. The Indian photographer, who is an astrophysicist and details scientist by trade, reveals his interest in mountain images commenced when he went on a climbing tour in the Italian Dolomites. ‘It was all through that expertise that I had an epiphany – I realized immediately that landscape photography was the route I desired to pursue passionately,’ he tells MailOnline Journey.
